However, the major turnaround occurred in the ninth round when Usyk delivered a heavy combination of punches that left Fury helpless, his feet wobbling as he stumbled into the ropes. This came after Usyk landed a powerful punch in the previous round, causing Fury’s nose to bleed.

Fury endured till the end of the fight, successfully restricting Usyk from causing further damage as both boxers hugged at the final sound of the bell.

The result was anounced in favour of Usyk as he becomes the first boxing heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

However, Tyson Fury has expressed dissatisfaction with the decision, claiming that he won the fight and providing reasons why the result favored the Ukrainian.

“You know his country’s at war, so people are siding for the country at war,’’ Fury said. “Make no mistake, I won that fight, and I’ll be back,’’ Fury said, as per USA Today.

Fury announced that he will exercise a rematch clause, stating that the fight will take place in October.
