ENZO MARESCA has been confirmed as Chelsea boss on five-year contract. Blues chiefs have swooped to prise the Italian from newly-promoted Leicester.
Enzo Maresca’s long-term deal is show of faith from Chelsea’s owners. They only handed his predecessor Mauricio Pochettino two-year contract. Todd Boehly and Co are delighted to have secured their man. According to The Sun, not all fans are on same page.

Many have taken to social media to vent their frustrations. One wrote: “Maresca signing a five-year deal. He will be gone in five months.” Another claimed: “Another moronic appointment by Chelsea and Todd Boehly. I didn’t think Pochettino would last more than year. I was proven right. I can’t see Enzo Maresca even lasting the season.”
A third posted: “Can’t wait to see Maresca sacked after one season because he’s been found out.” A fourth moaned: “This random will be sacked 7 months in.” Another added: “I’ll be back to this when everyone wants him out in January.”
Many other Chelsea fans did welcome their new boss. He spoke of his pride to have joined Blues. He said: “To join Chelsea. One of the biggest clubs in the world is a dream for any coach. It is why I am so excited by this opportunity. I look forward to working with a very talented group of players and staff to develop a team. That continues the club’s tradition of success and makes our fans proud.”
Chelsea’s owners meanwhile, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Enzo into Chelsea family. We look forward to supporting him. We are confident he can help fulfil our vision and competitive goals for the club.”
