The Premier League has finally reached a decision on the VAR abolishment situation.
Sports Buddy previously reported about the calls for the cancellation of the system, with clubs poised to vote on whether to keep the VAR or not.
Premier League vote in favour of VAR

A consensus has now been reached, with 19 clubs voting in favour of the VAR, leaving only Wolves isolated in their call to scrap the system. This means that the system will still be in use, as the majority voted for it’s continued usage.
Improvements plan on the system

Although VAR “produces more accurate decision-making,” the Premier acknowledged that “it was agreed that improvements should be made for the benefit of the game and supporters.”
Ref’s Chief Howard Webb promised that his new initiatives—which include a far higher threshold for VAR intervention and the use of Semi Automated Offside Technology modeled after Fifa and Uefa—would solve the problems plaguing the system since its launch five years ago.
According to The Sun, a statement announcing a six-step initiative to be implemented read, “Premier League clubs today voted in favour of continuing to operate VAR in the Premier League.
“While VAR produces more accurate decision making, it was agreed that improvements should be made for the benefit of the game and supporters.
“As part of thorough discussions at the Annual General Meeting, it was agreed that PGMOL, the Premier League and clubs all have important roles to play in improving the system and its reputation.”
Stockely Park VARs will no longer be used to detect errors that are “clear and obvious,” but will rather only step in when a judgment made on the field is “clearly wrong.”

SAOT is expected to reduce the average wait time for offside rulings by up to 45 seconds.
When a judgment is being changed, referees will be mik’d up to provide an explanation, either following a pitchside review or a fact-finding call by Stockley Park.
Webb is also committed to improving the quality of VAR interventions. This would be implemented by assembling specialized staff in place of the present Prem referees for the video booth duties.
