Leicester City have confirmed departures of Kelechi Iheanacho, Marc Albrighton and Dennis Praet. They will leave the club upon expiration of their contracts on June 30 according to report from The Athletic. The news marks a significant change for the club as it prepares for upcoming season.
Jannik Vestergaard, however has agreed to new three-year contract at Leicester. This extends his stay until 2027. The 31-year-old played crucial role in Leicester’s promotion campaign. He started 44 matches across all competitions. Additionally, the club is in talks with another Super Eagles star Wilfried Ndidi regarding a new deal. His contract is set to expire on June 30. Leicester also confirmed earlier on Friday that talisman Jamie Vardy has signed a one-year contract extension. This comes ahead of club’s return to Premier League.
Kelechi Iheanacho’s Impact and Departure
Kelechi Iheanacho 27, joined Leicester in 2017 from Manchester City. During his time at the club he scored 61 goals and provided 34 assists in 232 appearances. Last season, Iheanacho netted six goals and also registered three assists in 26 games. This showcased his consistent performance on field.

Dennis Praet, 30 joined Leicester from Sampdoria in 2019. Throughout his time at club, he scored five goals and provided seven assists. He made 107 appearances. Praet spent 2021-22 season on loan at Torino. He made only six league starts last season. This indicates his role had diminished.
