According to reports, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is close to making a shock return to the Premier League.
London-based club West Ham are reportedly in advanced talks with the 33-year-old midfielder, after spending just one year with Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.
The 2018 World Cup winner, who represented France in the recently-concluded Euro 2024 tournament, is willing to come back to London, and a contract of about £20 million may be reached.
West Ham’s keen interest in N’Golo Kante

As a longtime admirer of Kante, West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui believes the player would greatly improve the team’s midfield.
The Hammers are in need of a defensive midfielder after Manchester City’s Kalvin Philips’ loan spell at the club failed to materialize into a permanent deal, and Kante is seen as the best fit for the midfield role.
N’Golo Kante’s impressive records in England

Kante has an impressive track record in England, having won back-to-back Premier League titles as a key player with two different clubs: Leicester (2016) and Chelsea (2017).
During his stint at Chelsea, he also won the FA Cup, Europa League, and Champions League. In 2016–17, he won the PFA and Premier League Player of the Year awards.
Meanwhile, Sports Buddy previously reported that ex-Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh heaped praise on Kante for his impressive display against Austria, claiming the 33-year-old made France favorites to win Euro 2024.
