Sir Alex Ferguson, the former Manchester United manager, has recommended two young players as symbols of the club.

Problems of the previous season placed United on the eighth position in the Premier League, the worst ranking in history.

But a FA Cup final triumph against rivals Manchester City can be seen as silver lining, indicating that the club may be on the upswing under Erik ten Hag and co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Emergence of New Talents

Ferguson saw the positives in the chaos and praised Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho for their impressive performances.

Kobbie Mainoo has been widely praised by football experts and legends across the globe for his consistent performances at teenage level. A recent study from Sportsbuddy compared his achievements at 19 to Paul Scholes at same age.

Paul Scholes, contributing to the hype, suggested the teenager is “10 times the player I was at 19” via an instagram post.

Mainoo, a box-to-box midfielder, was described as promising after making his league debut in November.

Garnacho, the skilled winger, recorded great figures including the Premier League’s Goal of the Season.

On the international level, both players achieved great results: Garnacho, 20 years old, won the Copa America with Argentina; Mainoo, 19 years old, reached the final of Euro 2024 with England.

This underlines the fact that they could be future cornerstone of the team at Old Trafford.
