Despite a blockbuster move to Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe is the biggest earner in La Liga.
Surprisingly, fellow Madrid teammates Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham are found missing in the top three on the highest-paid players list.
Kylian Mbappe, Bellingham, Vincius, not number one
Mbappe, who is the highest-earning Madrid player on the list, will earn £26.3 million a year, following his recent transfer move from PSG.
However, his pay is less than that of Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski and Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong, who earns £31.6 million annually, the highest player on the list.
Vinicius Jr. is the joint fifth-highest earner in La Liga, earning £17.5 million per year, the same as Atletico Madrid shot stopper Jan Oblak; however, he is lower than fellow Madridster David Alaba, who racks up £19.0 million a year.
Bellingham, who made a big-money move to the Spanish capital last summer, is seventh on the list with £15.8 million per year in salary.
This list comes days after Kylian Mbappe was unveiled as a Real Madrid player.
The French captain finally had the opportunity to play for his dream club after years of anticipation.
“It’s such an incredible feeling to be here, just incredible. I spent endless nights dreaming about one day playing for Real Madrid, and today I’m one happy guy,” Mbappe said, as quoted by The Sun.
Meanwhile, Sports Buddy revealed in a recent article why Cristiano Ronaldo refused to show up for Mbappe’s Real Madrid unveiling despite being invited.
