Chelsea have truncated Conor Gallagher’s holiday and informed him that he will not be part of the first team next season, according to Daily Mail.
Gallagher, who seemed to have rediscovered his form under Mauricio Pochettino last season, has seen the club agree to a £33 million fee with Spanish side Atletico, but that deal appears unlikely to fall through at this stage.
Although the decision indicates that Gallagher’s Chelsea career may be finished, he would be willing to continue at his childhood club if Chelsea offered him a longer-term contract.
Chelsea’s offer
The 24-year-old turned down a move to join Aston Villa after a £57.5 million fee was accepted, prompting Chelsea to offer him a new contract. The deal includes a two-year term plus a year’s option; however, he wants more.
The Blues then offered the same deal last week after the latest offer was received from Atletico Madrid.
Gallagher has always expressed his desire to play for Chelsea, but he would prefer a deal that values him and shows support from all parties.
After agreeing on the fee with Chelsea, Atletico Madrid has been pressing for a response, but Gallagher isn’t quite sure it’s the right move for him.
Meanwhile, Sports Buddy recently reported about another Blues player currently on holiday and away from the rest of team.
Cole Palmer is on is currently taking a well-earned break in Ibiza, Spain.
While still on holiday, the 22-year-old was spotted with a mystery woman, speculated to be his girlfriend.
