Super Eagles and Nantes FC forward Simon Moses is out of action again this year 2024 as he has suffered his second injury this year.
Towards the end of the 2023-24 campaign, Nantes reveal that Moses Simon had a fracture fibula as reported by Sportsbuddy.
This injury put him out of action for three months, which marked the end of his season.
After a successful surgery, he rejoined the team, helping Nantes start the new season with a win against Laval in a friendly match.
However, he has now sustained another injury.
Concerns from Nantes Manager
Before the new season kicked off, Nantes manager Antoine Kombouaré sounded worried over Moses’ injury.
“The two little worries are Simon (Moses) with his ankle still troubling him and then little Adel (Mahamoud) who twisted his knee,” he said, according to Nantes Tribune.
Moses earlier failed to feature for Nigeria in the 2026 World Cup qualification matches against South Africa and Benin Republic which Nigeria drew with South Africa and lost to Benin.
Impact on Super Eagles and Upcoming Matches
He was sorely missed in these vital encounters and now the Super Eagles may have him out of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against Benin Republic.
The absence of the former Levante forward was felt in the two decisive encounters, and the Super Eagles may be without the striker in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches against Benin Republic.
