Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is on the verge of joining Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, following a breakthrough in talks.
Chelsea star’s banishment amid contract dispute
Sports Buddy recently reported that Gallagher was banished from the Blues first team in a bid to force him out of the club after both parties failed to reach an agreement over a contract extension.
Chelsea had reportedly offered the 24-year-old midfielder a two-year contract plus a year’s option, which was declined by the player as he wanted a longer-term deal.
Gallagher has always expressed his desire to remain with the Blues; however, he would prefer a deal that shows the club values him.
Athletico Madrid were one of the clubs interested in signing the England international, with reports claiming a £33 million deal has been agreed between both clubs, with the success of the transfer contingent on Gallagher’s response.

The latest report now states that there has been advancement in talks between all parties involved, with a resolution being met in the early hours of Sunday.
The former Crystal Palace midfielder is expected to fly to Madrid on Monday with his agent, Paul Nicholls, to finalize terms and sign off on all necessary documents to seal the deal, according to Talk Sports.
