Super Eagles Captain William Troost-Ekong’s update on Victor Osimhen’s future has been revisited.
Victor Osimhen has spent four seasons with Napoli, and it appears his stint with the Italian side is about to come to an end.
Despite extending his contract with the Scudetto winners last year, a transfer clause was included which ensures teams interested in his services can trigger the clause easily to acquire him.
Interest from Top European Clubs
There is a lot of heat in the ongoing summer transfer window, as several of the richest European clubs are again in need of a top-class striker.
Even though Chelsea are blessed with the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, the club is still on the lookout for a world-class center forward.
Paris Saint-Germain has already lost Kylian Mbappe, and the club are in serious hunt to sign Osimhen.
The French side were prepared to launch a joint to bid to capture Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as reported by Sportsbuddy.
Arsenal are also in contention, especially with Gabriel Jesus often getting injured.
Besides, William Troost-Ekong, Osimhen’s national team captain, is aware of the striker’s next destination.
In an interview with Sky Sports via Tutto Napoli, Troost-Ekong stated that Osimhen will move from Napoli in the current year but did not disclose any details about his new club.
He said: “Where will Osimhen play next year? I can’t say anything, but I know. ” However, when the journalists insisted on getting more information out of him, he simply smiled and nodded.
Fan Concerns Amid Chelsea’s Move for Omorodion
Given that Chelsea is reportedly close to completing a deal for Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion, fans are now doubting the credibility of Troost-Ekong’s earlier remarks.
This has raised concerns such that the information from the Super Eagles defender might not be enough to give the accurate prediction about Osimhen’s next move.
Victor Osimhen’s transfer will definitely be one of the highlights of the summer window especially with the likes of Chelsea, PSG, and Arsenal showing interest in him.
Regardless of the truth in Troost-Ekong’s hints, the suspense over Osimhen’s transfer continues to build.
