Mikel Obi has spoken of his time at Chelsea FC as an extraordinary period in his football career at the Super Eagles.
The Nigerian midfielder who featured for the London club for several years won many trophies including two English premier league titles, four FA cups, one champions league title and one UEFA Europa league trophy.

A Career With Accolades but No Personal Gains
While establishing his reputation at Chelsea, Mikel never got his hands on the coveted African Footballer of the Year trophy, which many expected him to receive.
However, this has not affected his satisfaction of his career choices in any way. In an interview, Mikel Obi looked back with tremendous pride about his time at the club comparing that period to the apex of his career.
The Relief of Joining Chelsea

In an episode of the Obi One Podcast, Mikel admitted the anxiety and relief when the transfer finally went through after a close transfer to Manchester United didn’t materialize.
“It was a massive relief. I couldn’t play for any club because of the whole saga,” Mikel revealed.
“But after that was settled, I joined the club I really wanted to play for, which was Chelsea. I just couldn’t wait to be unveiled as a Chelsea player. ”He said.
“It has been an awesome career, I won as many championships as I could, the memories I have had here are great I would not exchange it for anything. ”
The proud former Eagles midfielder has also warned players who are eligible to play for the Super Eagles not to make it a second choice decision in a previous report from Sportsbuddy.
After Arsenal legend Nwankwo Kanu, Mikel Obi is ranked as the second most decorated Super Eagle, proving his accomplishment not only at Chelsea but also in Nigeria’s football history.
