Manchester United attacker Antony has gotten some spirit-lifting news, which could have a great effect on his season with the Red Devils.
The Brazilian winger has been cleared of all charges after he was accused of domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend.
According to reports from The Sun, Brazilian cops dropped their domestic violence probe against the former Ajax man.
This comes as good news to Antony, given the fact that he recently revealed that the troubles of the scandal affected his on-field display for the Red Devils, which saw him score just three goals in 38 appearances last season.
Antony on assault scandal and effect on performance

”I’m someone who demands a lot of myself and I was obviously not satisfied with my season but a lot happened over the year in my personal life,” explained the Manchester United winger, as quoted by Tribuna
“Like it or not, everything I went through had an effect on the pitch.”
He continued: “Everything I went through was very difficult for me and all my family.
“I’ve learnt from it all, I’ve grown and matured. I believe I learnt a lot from the adversity. I learn from everything I go through.
“That’s why I said I put the past behind me. I matured and grew from it all and this will make me stronger going into this new season.”
Now that Antony has been cleared of all charges, the Brazilian attacker will be aiming to get back to form and compete for a starting spot in Erik ten Hag’s squad, as he previously promised to improve his performance.
