During his media interview with the DailyMail at Manchester United’s pre-season training camp in Los Angeles, Antony revealed that he had a lot of issues last season and admitted that it affected him as a player as reported by Sportsbuddy.
Even when he scored on his first match against Arsenal, there were widely held opinions that United overpaid £81.3m plus £4.27m in add-ons for the Brazilian winger.
Mixed Performances and Frustrations
Antony’s first season at Manchester United has had moments of promise as a whole, with eight goals in total .
However, his season was not without its frustrations especially when Erik ten Hag shifted him to left-back last season which he said made him uncomfortable.
‘Well, I played as a full-back and I was bit uncomfortable about that,’ said Antony.

“It is uncomfortable in the moment during the game but after it is all right. I have great fondness towards Erik and he has one toward me as well. ”
At the end of the season, the former Ajax man was further down the pecking order behind Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho and was seemingly usurped by Amad Diallo during the pre-season.
Setting New Objectives

Desperate to change the situation, Antony and his partner Rosilene developed a strategy how to make the revealed set goals.
“I’ve only been doing this for a short while now but I have been doing it a lot more for this season. ”
This season, the Brazilian winger intends to stand out and he is not shy about it, promising “You will hear the name Antony when it comes to goals and assists. ”
With clear goals and determination, Antony is set on making a point and earning manager Erik ten Hag’s trust.
“I have many objectives, objectives I set for myself and many for this new season” he concluded.
