Manchester United are on the verge of losing one of their best performers from last season.
Recent reports from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Red Devils have reached an agreement to sign Scott McTominay.
”Napoli are closing in on Scott McTominay deal, NOT linked to Billy Gilmour as negotiations remain separate.
”New bid worth over €30m accepted by Manchester United and talks moving to final stages also on player side,” Fabrizio wrote on his account on Twitter (formerly X).
Manchester United to sell McTominay to Napoli
This comes after United boss Erik Ten Hag stated that the midfielder was not for sale.
Fulham had two bids for Scott McTominay rejected by Manchester United earlier this summer. United considered the initial £20 million offer too low for the Scottish international.
Marco Silva’s Fulham team eventually signed Sander Berge from Burnley for £25 million, but Napoli has shown renewed interest in McTominay.
McTominay is nearing the end of his contract and, as a homegrown player, Manchester United could sell him for a profit. He is expected to join Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur this summer, following Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku and his Scotland teammate Billy Gilmour.
