Following the demolition boys of the Super Eagles defeating the Squirrels of Benin Republic 3-0 in the first round of the qualifying fixture for the 2025 AFCON, Victor Osimhen revealed that the current Super Eagles team is very fast and technical.
Skillful Playmakers Stand Out
At the Counter Attack Podcast after the match, Osimhen revealed the three fastest players in the team as Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman, and Samuel Chukwueze.
“The quickest, first of all, Simon, Lookman, and Samuel,” Osimhen revealed. “In match situations, the most skilled are Boniface, Ademola, and also Iheanacho.”
In a recent report from Sportsbuddy, Victor Osimhen revealed what he said to Semi Ajayi before taking the shot that led to his goal against Benin Republic.
Victor Osimhen’s Ideal Five-A-Side Team
When asked to name a five-aside team with himself excluded, Osimhen chose goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, defender William Troost-Ekong, midfielders Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi, and forward Victor Boniface.
This selection can be seen as providing good balance of defence, ability to control the midfield, as well as attacking power.
Focus on Rwanda
The Nigerian team is now focussing on their next AFCON qualifier match against Rwanda scheduled for September 10.
A victory in Kigali will propel the Super Eagles to the top of Group D with six points from two fixtures. As of now, the group’s leading country with three points is Nigeria, with Rwanda having one point after the game that ended in a draw with Libya.
