After Manchester United secured a dominant 3-0 win against Southampton, manager Erik ten Hag has given updates on the fitness of Rasmus Højlund, Luke Shaw, and Mason Mount.
The three stars were due back before the midweek but will not be around to face United in the Carabao Cup against Barnsley of League One.

While Mount is set for a later return, Ten Hag hopes all three will be back during September’s busy schedule.
“Of course it’s an important period with many games to play—I think seven in 22 days,” he told reporters.
A Busy September Awaits
Ten Hag accepted the significance of the upcoming weeks with the team taking seven matches in twenty-two days across all competitions.
He urged the need for depth in squads, especially at United as the team begins its Carabao Cup and Europa League campaigns.

“We need everyone, and hopefully players are returning. It will not be the case for the next game, but hopefully in the next few weeks they [Hojlund, Mount, and Shaw] will return to the squad.”
The manager is eager to have Højlund, Shaw, and Mount in the team, as they are useful reinforcements during such a time.
According to a previous report from Sportsbuddy, Erik ten Hag has responded to the recent comments made by Cristiano Ronaldo about the club’s hunger.

Achieving positive outcomes will be crucial for the team to gain the necessary boosts, as United are eying silverware and sustained success under the guidance of Ten Hag.
