After Nigeria’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Libya on Friday, Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong expressed his pride in representing Nigeria.

Nigeria were held goalless for over 85 minutes by the Mediterranean Knights at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium before Fisayo Dele-Bashiru’s late goal secured the win.

Troost-Ekong Celebrates Journey

The Super Eagles continue to rely on Troost-Ekong, who has now made 73 appearances for the team.

Troost-Ekong, who made his Nigeria debut in 2015, has scored seven goals for the national team, including his memorable goal in the Africa Cup of Nations final against Ivory Coast, which Nigeria lost 2-1.

Reflecting on his journey, the Al-Kholood defender said: “Playing for Nigeria is always pressure; you have to embrace that… Pressure is a privilege,” the defender posted on his (X) handle.

Meanwhile, Sportsbuddy also reported that Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali took to his social media to mock Libya after their antics in their loss to the Eagles in Uyo.
