Kalvin Phillips has been linked with a return to Manchester City due to his failure to meet expectations at Ipswich Town but manager Kieran McKenna has dismissed such reports, branding them ‘proper proper nonsense’.
English midfielder, Phillips joined the newly promoted side on a season long loan from Manchester City in the summer witj the hope of rejuvenating his career and maybe fight his way back into the plans of Pep Guardiola in the future.

So far, things haven’t gone as planned but Kieran McKenna insists The Tractor Boys have not given up on the former Leeds United man.

Ipswich Town has no plans to release Kalvin Phillips

Commenting on the rumours of Phillips’ loan from Manchester City being cut short, Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna said in is post match interview following the loss to Brentford in the weekend:
“What can I say about that ? It is Proper, proper nonsense. You can write something and it gets picked up and becomes a story, absolute nonsense. There have been no conversations and it’s a real shame…”

Phillips had started six of the last seven matches at Ipswich, which is more than he managed in the past two seasons combined at Manchester City. His experience will help the club in the battle for survival, when the time of the season comes.

For now, Kieran McKenna is certain there is no chnace that they consider returning the midfielder to his parent club.
