Jadon Sancho’s recent comments might not sit well with Manchester United fans, as the Chelsea loanee revealed he has always supported the Blues as a child, risking backlash from the Red Devils’ fanbase.
The 24-year-old winger secured a last-minute loan move at the end of the summer transfer window, joining the West London club after a turbulent spell at Old Trafford.

Sancho struggled to make an impact during his time at United, a period marked by controversy, including a fallout with then-manager Erik ten Hag.
His dispute with the Dutchman led to a loan move to Dortmund, where he thrived, helping the German club reach the final of the 2023–24 Champions League.
Sancho returned to Old Trafford during the preseason tour but made just one appearance—a seven-minute cameo in the Community Shield against Manchester City. In that match, United lost in a penalty shootout, with Sancho missing his kick.

Sancho on supporting Chelsea as a kid

His loan switch to Chelsea has brought a turnaround in his fortunes, with the England international now expressing his affinity for his new club.
“It’s still a bit weird to me… but it’s always good to be home. My family is close,” Sancho said, as quoted by Sportskeeda.
“I always supported Chelsea as a kid because of Lampard and Drogba. Speaking to Enzo Maresca before I came here, he was determined to work with me.”
Sancho has already made a positive impact for the Blues, scoring two goals and providing five assists in 12 appearances across all competitions—a far cry from his record of 12 goals and six assists in 83 appearances for Manchester United.
