Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen may be living the dream of millions, but he admits that fame has a downside, especially when it comes to spending time with his loved ones.
In a recent interview with Instablog TV, the Nigerian forward shared a personal moment that highlighted the emotional cost of global recognition. “I like to stay around the people at Olusosun. I like to stay close to them because I feel like fame is boring,” Osimhen said.
Missing Out on Fatherhood Moments

Osimhen, who recently became a father, recalled how he couldn’t fully enjoy his daughter’s first outing because of the attention he constantly draws.
“I remember when I had my daughter and I wanted to take her somewhere with my family in Italy. I couldn’t do much. I had to give her to my sister while I kept taking pictures and making videos with fans,” he explained. “Just like I said, fame is boring.”
Loved Worldwide, Yet Yearning for Simplicity
Despite being one of Nigeria’s biggest football exports and a hero in Italy and Turkey, Osimhen says he still longs for the simple joys of life. In Naples, he is adored, and in Turkey, he is revered, so much so that Galatasaray fans once put up a billboard in Times Square, New York, begging him to stay.
Their efforts paid off, as Galatasaray recently reached an agreement with Napoli to sign him permanently.
Though grateful for his success and fanbase, Osimhen’s story reminds the world that even the brightest stars sometimes crave the ordinary moments many take for granted.
