Benjamin Sesko has officially joined Manchester United from RB Leipzig in a deal worth up to €85 million, including add-ons. The 22-year-old Slovenian striker turned down interest from Newcastle United to complete his dream move to Old Trafford.
Why He Chose United

Speaking to the club’s media, Sesko revealed that Manchester United’s ambition and project were decisive in his decision.
- “Manchester United’s history is obviously very special, but what really excites me is the future. When we discussed the project, it was clear that everything is in place for this team to continue growing and soon be competing for the biggest trophies again,” Sesko said.
He also praised the atmosphere at the club, describing it as “positive” and “family-oriented.”
Looking Forward to Working with Amorim

In a notable mention, Sesko expressed his eagerness to learn from United’s new manager, Ruben Amorim.
- “I can’t wait to start learning from Ruben and connecting with my teammates so we can achieve the success we all know we are capable of achieving together,” he added.
Sesko further shared his excitement on social media, calling the move a “childhood dream come true” and proudly declaring himself a Red Devil.
His Track Record
Since moving to Germany from Salzburg in 2023, Sesko has scored 39 goals and provided 8 assists in 87 appearances for RB Leipzig.
Last season, he netted 21 goals across all competitions, cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s rising forwards.
