Inter Milan have set a strict price limit in their pursuit of Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman, with the Serie A giants capping their offer at €45 million plus bonuses.
According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport and Football Italia, the Nerazzurri are unwilling to go beyond €50 million even if add-ons are included.
The 27-year-old Nigerian, fresh off winning the 2024 African Player of the Year award, has emerged as one of the most sought-after forwards in Italy. However, Atalanta have rejected Inter’s initial bid, standing firm on their valuation and showing little interest in selling to a direct league rival.
Lookman Pushes for Inter Move
Lookman’s desire to join Inter is no secret. The winger reportedly handed in a transfer request last month and has openly voiced his frustration with Atalanta, accusing the club of breaking promises.
Tensions have escalated, with the forward missing training sessions and clearing out his locker in a bid to force the move.
Despite the standoff, Atalanta remain reluctant to negotiate with Inter, especially as Serie A champions Napoli have also expressed interest in the Nigerian star. Selling to another top club in Italy is a scenario Atalanta would prefer to avoid.
Negotiations Enter Critical Phase
Inter are expected to return with an improved bid in the coming days, hoping to find common ground before the summer transfer window closes. For Lookman, the coming weeks will be decisive, either Inter meet Atalanta’s demands or he faces the prospect of considering other suitors.
The situation remains finely balanced, with all parties aware that one major decision could trigger a chain reaction in the Serie A transfer market.
