Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has assured Nigerians that the team will not give up on their quest to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite their current position in the qualifiers.

Nigeria sits fourth in Group C with seven points, six behind leaders South Africa. Rwanda and Benin are tied on eight points in second and third place. Only the group winner is guaranteed an automatic ticket to the tournament in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Chelle’s Confidence Ahead of Decisive Fixtures

Speaking ahead of next month’s clash against Rwanda in Uyo, Chelle stressed that his side can still turn the situation around.

Many people have written us off already. But I am determined. We have four games left to play, and my players and I will do all we can to win those games,” Chelle said.

The Super Eagles will also face South Africa at home before travelling to Lesotho and hosting Benin in their final group match.
