Former Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has shed light on why Ademola Lookman is pushing hard to secure a move to Inter Milan. The 27-year-old forward has been at the centre of a transfer tussle after Atalanta rejected two bids from Inter, worth €40m and €45m respectively.

As reported by Sport buddy, Lookman is currently on strike to force the move. However, Peseiro believes the forward’s determination stems from his past rejection by England and his hunger to prove himself on the biggest stage.
The England Setback
According to Peseiro , Lookman rose through England’s youth ranks and even won the FIFA U-20 World Cup with the Young Lions. But despite early promise, he never received a senior call-up to the Three Lions, a disappointment that Peseiro says deeply shaped his career choices.
“As a kid in England, he was destined for the top spot,” Peseiro said. “He grew up hearing he’d be a Premier League star, but the call from England never came.
That rejection hurt him and made him choose Nigeria, a team he loves because of his parents. His desire for redemption was born there.”
Why Inter Move Matters

According to Peseiro, Lookman’s push for Inter is about proving himself at a top European club. “Now he wants to show he’s a top-tier player like Inter. For me, he is 100% ready,” the Portuguese coach said.
On Atalanta’s €50m valuation, Peseiro defended the price, stating: “It reflects his enormous quality. Age doesn’t matter, Inter want to win immediately, and Lookman can help them achieve that.”
As the transfer window edges closer to its end, Lookman’s future remains uncertain, but his determination to seal a move to Inter appears stronger than ever.
