The transfer saga of Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman has taken a dramatic turn as negotiations between Inter Milan and Atalanta have come to a sudden stop.
Reports from Italy confirm that discussions are currently frozen, leaving the future of the 27 year old winger in doubt.
Lookman has been eager to join Inter after agreeing on personal terms with the Serie A giants.
However, Atalanta remain firm on their asking price of fifty million euros, rejecting Inter’s latest offer of forty five million euros. This difference in valuation has created a standoff that neither side seems willing to break.

The Nigerian star has grown frustrated with the delay and has taken bold steps to push for a transfer. He recently submitted an official request to leave Atalanta, accusing the club of going back on earlier promises.
In another clear signal, Lookman removed all Atalanta related content from his social media accounts. He also skipped recent training sessions, a move widely seen as an attempt to force the club’s hand.
These actions highlight how determined he is to secure a switch to Inter, where he believes he can play a bigger role and compete at the highest level.
Now, Sportmediaset transfer expert Orazio Accomando, in a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) reported that:

In midfield, they’re looking for a muscular center with good run-in skills (similar to Kone) and a central defender. The midfielder is more likely to be foreign than Serie A. Solet in defense is a rumored name, but not the only one.”

Inter Shift Focus to Other Targets
Despite their long standing interest, Inter have cooled their pursuit for now. Sources close to the club say management are currently focused on strengthening their midfield and defense rather than raising their offer for Lookman.
The Nerazzurri are still monitoring the situation and have not completely ruled out another attempt, but they are unlikely to go above their current bid unless Atalanta soften their stance.
