Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has named two Nigerian-born defenders, Habeeb Ogunneye and Maximillian Oyedele in United’s pre-season friendly match against Rangers.

It will be played on Saturday afternoon at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium.

Young Defenders Stepping Up

Owing to the fact that some first-team players have been occupied with the 2024 European Championship and Copa America, Ogunneye and Oyedele have been called for first-team training are part of the travelling squad for the Pre season fixtures announced on the club’s official website.

Both players featured in United’s 0-1 defeat to Rosenborg in their first friendly match of the summer.

Ogunneye took the place of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Oyedele entered the field replacing Casemiro at the half time interval.

In other reports from Sportsbuddy, Manchester United are on verge of completing a move for Arsenal’s teenage striking weapon Chido Obi-Martin who is 16 years of age.
