Arsenal is being compared to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool as they threaten Manchester City’s title reign in the Premier League.
As the main rivals of City for the last two seasons, the Gunners faded towards the end of the last campaign but emerged as the challengers until the last match of the season.
Building a Title-Winning Squad
Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu have strategically and gradually built up the squad.
It is an even more gradual buildup similar to what Klopp has done at Liverpool, culminating in victories in the Champions League this year and the Premier League last year as per Gunners legend Emmanuel Petit.
Petit described the gunners move in the transfer market as perfect and compared Klopp’s revolution to that of Arsenal.
Petit’s Optimism and Arsenal’s Progress
Petit feels that his Arsenal is now on the verge of halting this long losing streak in the league.
He also recalled that the team has improved tremendously over the past few years and there is no need to question their handling of pressure.
“This is the way big clubs work. Real Madrid work in the same way. Arsenal are in good shape and for Pep his main challenger is Arsenal” Petit said speaking to The Mirror.
