Following Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City, Thiago Silva seemed to have a dig at the referee, Anthony Taylor.
City clinched the victory at Stamford Bridge with goals from Erling Haaland and Mateo Kovacic.
However, the match was not without controversy especially in the second half when the ball hit Kovacic’s arm which led to a corner rather than a penalty to Chelsea.
Thiago Silva’s Subtle Dig at Referee Anthony Taylor
Former Chelsea captain Silva also shared his feelings over the occurrence of the incident and reacted to the picture on Instagram commenting to the post.

He wrote “Anthonyyyyyyyyyyyy” and added a crying laughing emoji, two eye emojis, and a waving hand.
This was not the first occasion Thiago Silva has publicly slammed Taylor.
Two years ago, he was critical of Taylor for not issuing a red card to Tottenham’s Cristian Romero for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair in the buildup to the final whistle before scoring an equalizer against Chelsea.
Maresca Sees Positives Despite the Defeat

However, the new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca was able to find some silver lining on their play to the match. “I believe we played well,” Maresca said after the game.
“Nobody likes to lose, but, in general, the team played well. ” He commended his team for performing to the best of their abilities against what he described as the best team in the world.
The Chelsea manager focused on the need to progress game by game and in this context, he showed trust in the strategic direction of the team.
Despite getting some tactical decisions wrong in the game as reported by Sportsbuddy, the Chelsea boss was pleased with the outing of his players.
Maresca concluded stating: “The direction is a good one and I do not have any doubt that day by day we are getting better – I have no doubt about the future successes or Chelsea getting better under my leadership”.
