France Football, the organization behind the prestigious Ballon d’Or award, has released new footage acknowledging Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman as a potential winner.
Lookman was one of the thirty best players that made the 2024 Men’s Ballon d’Or shortlist.
The 26-year-old will compete for football’s most prestigious individual award against players like Rodri, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr., and Kylian Mbappe.

The footage could also be interpreted as revealing why the Nigerian attacker has a stake in the accolade, with one of the goals in his historic Europa League hattrick heroics being one of the highlights.
While Lookman is not considered a frontrunner for the Ballon d’Or by everyone, the organisers have thrown the question open on their X accounts, with the caption, ” They are all here! But…who should win it,” with the Atalanta winger’s name included, making him a potential winner.

Lookman boost chances with impressive performances

Ahead of the ceremony, which will be held on October 28, the former Fulham star has continued to impress this season, boosting his chances for a top finish in the final Ballon d’Or standing following an impressive four goal contribution in three games for both club and country.
On Sunday, Lookman put up a world-class performance, providing a beautiful assist and scoring a sublime goal to help Atalanta emerge 3-2 winners over Fiorentina.
Lookman, who is also the clear favorite to win the Africa Men’s Footballer of the Year award, having been the only player from the continent to make the 30 best players in the world list.
