Fenerbahçe have entered a crucial phase in their attempt to secure Bright Osayi-Samuel’s future, as two English clubs have reportedly shown interest in signing the Nigerian star.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, the club is racing against time to prevent him from leaving on a free transfer.

Reports from Turkey suggest that one of the interested English clubs is from the Premier League, while the other competes in the Championship. This growing interest has pushed Fenerbahçe to speed up negotiations with Bright Osayi-Samuel, with plans to hold serious talks with him in January. The club is eager to reach an agreement on a contract extension before it’s too late.

Earlier this season, Sportsbuddy reported that the Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi mercilessly beats up fan in breakout fight.

Osayi-Samuel, who made the move to Fenerbahçe from QPR in 2021 for €508,000, has been a standout player since joining the Turkish giants. However, it’s believed that the 26-year-old is seeking a salary increase, which has slightly delayed the negotiations.

Despite this, Fenerbahçe are doing everything in their power to keep him, as he has made 145 appearances for the club, scoring seven goals and providing 14 assists in all competitions.

This season, Bright Osayi-Samuel has featured in six matches, contributing one assist. Unfortunately, his progress has been hindered by an ankle injury he picked up during Fenerbahçe’s Europa League clash against Union SG, where he was also sent off after coming on as a substitute.

As a result, the Nigerian full-back missed the recent match against Antalyaspor. Nevertheless, Fenerbahçe handled his absence well, securing a 2-0 victory in a game that saw manager Jose Mourinho punished for his infamous laptop antics. With that win, Fenerbahçe moved up to second in the Turkish Super Lig, just behind Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray.
