Ridvan Yilmaz in action for Rangers

Turkish side Trabzonspor have expressed interest in Rangers’ left-back Ridvan Yilmaz, but the move is far from guaranteed.

Manager Senol Gunes, who handed Yilmaz his national team debut during their time at Besiktas, is reportedly eager to bring the 23-year-old back to Turkey.

However, Trabzonspor’s financial situation complicates matters.

The club must first offload Borna Barisic, a former Rangers player who has struggled for form since joining the Turkish outfit last summer.

Barisic has made just 11 appearances across all competitions and, according to reports, could see his contract terminated to free up space on the wage bill.

Only then would Trabzonspor consider a move for Yilmaz, leaving Rangers in limbo.
