Dessers’ message to Eguavoen
Barely weeks after the squad list, the snubbed striker made a great impact for his club side, scoring the only goal as Rangers recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Hearts in the Scottish league.
Rangers started the game strongly, in an intense opening five minutes. A poor corner clearance saw the Gers build the ball back into Hearts’ box, one which led to a goal scoring opportunity for Dessers, who put a toe to the ball to change its trajectory after captain, James Tavernier, gently received the ball and hammered a low drive back across goal. The goal was the Nigerian’s fourth in the league this season.
Dessers’ goal serves as a statement to Eguavoen, showing the Nigerian coach what he may miss with his absence.”
