Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi has been nominated for Nottingham Forest’s February goal of the month award for his impressive goal against West Ham United, soccernet reports.

Despite missing out on AFCON 2023 due to a recurring groin injury that required surgery, Awoniyi has made a significant impact since his return, contributing to three goals for Nuno Santo Espirito’s side. His standout goal against West Ham is among the nominees for the award, alongside other notable strikes.
The Super Eagles striker, who joined the Garibaldis from Germern club Union Berlin in June 2022 for a club record fee of 17 million pounds, has scored a total of 17 goals since his transfer move to the club.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest has only managed one win in their last five games and is set to face Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. The Merseysiders are currently in top form, having won their last five matches convincingly, scoring fifteen goals and conceding just three.
