Manchester United and Newcastle United have both stepped up their pursuit of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško, a former Arsenal target, as they each look to reinforce their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League season.

According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg via Sportal, both clubs have tabled their sporting projects and financial proposals to Šeško’s representatives.

The Slovenian forward, alongside his management, is now reviewing the offers before deciding which club aligns better with his career ambitions.

Financial Constraints and Urgency

While Manchester United remain keen to land a top striker, their recent transfer outlay, over €150 million on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo means that further spending hinges on offloading fringe players. The club is reportedly prioritising exits before making any formal move for Šeško.

Newcastle, on the other hand, appear more proactive in the talks. Having spent a modest €60 million this summer, most notably on Anthony Elanga, the Magpies have greater financial flexibility. Their need for a striker has intensified following reports that Alexander Isak is seeking a move to Liverpool.

No Official Bid Yet

Despite the advanced nature of talks, neither club has made a formal offer to RB Leipzig. Both are awaiting a green light from Šeško’s camp before approaching the German side with a transfer bid.

Šeško has emerged as one of Europe’s most promising forwards and remains a hot commodity in the transfer market, having previously drawn interest from Arsenal before joining Leipzig.

Decision Looms

As the race heats up, all eyes are on Šeško and his team to determine which Premier League project offers the best pathway for his development and success.
