Super Falcons forward Rinsola Babajide has proudly showcased her Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) gold medal against the stunning backdrop of the Colosseum in Rome.

The 26-year-old striker, fresh from helping Nigeria clinch a record-extending 10th WAFCON title, shared the glamorous moment with fans via her official social media accounts on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Alongside her photos, Babajide captioned the post, “O.O.N Edition: Dripping in Gold in Rome.”
From Tenerife to Rome
Born in England, Babajide switched her international allegiance to Nigeria in 2023, making her debut for the Super Falcons in October of that year.

Her move to Italy came shortly after the WAFCON triumph, with the forward sealing a transfer from Spain’s CD Tenerife to Serie A giants AS Roma. She signed a contract that will keep her in the Italian capital until June 30, 2027.
While adjusting to her new surroundings, Babajide has wasted no time in celebrating her continental success, using one of the world’s most famous landmarks as the perfect stage.
Awaiting Lagos State Honour
Following Nigeria’s WAFCON victory, President Bola Tinubu rewarded the team for their achievement. However, Babajide revealed she is still awaiting an invitation from the Lagos State Government, expressing her disappointment over the omission.
Despite that, the forward remains focused on her new chapter in Italy, ready to replicate her international success in club football.
