UPDATE: Chelsea and Liverpool set to battle it out for signature of impressive Premier League Manager

Liverpool and Chelsea are set to compete for the signing of Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi, according to reports.

According to the Times, Brighton is worried De Zerbi will leave the club this summer if he gets a good offer from top clubs, with Liverpool and Chelsea considering him as a potential replacement for their respective current managers.

Chelsea and Liverpool eye De Zerbi as potential replacement for managerial role

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp recently announced his departure from the club at the end of the season, citing the need for personal time after years of managing the club and achieving significant success, including UEFA Champions League and English Premier League titles.

With Klopp leaving, there’s a substantial gap to fill, and De Zerbi is being considered as a potential candidate due to his managerial prowess and success with Brighton.

Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is facing uncertainty amid his team’s 11th-place position in the Premier League. Reports suggest that De Zerbi is on Chelsea’s radar as a possible replacement for Pochettino.

The Seagulls manager has just over two years left on his contract at the Amex Stadium. However, there’s reportedly an £11 million release clause, which shouldn’t be too difficult for big Premier League clubs to meet.
