Sixteen-year-old Nickecoy Bramwell, from the same country as the legendary sprinter Usain Bolt, has broken his 22-year-old record at the 51st Carifta Games in Grenada.

Nickecoy Bramwell breaks Usain Bolt’s record at Carifta games

Bramwell, despite facing several minor injuries, clocked a time of 47.26 seconds, surpassing Bolt’s previous record of 47.33 seconds.

In the race, Bramwell left his competitors trailing behind, with Kemron Mathlyn finishing second with a time of 47.96 seconds and Eagan Neely coming in third with a time of 48.16 seconds.

After successfully defending his title, Bramwell said, “It’s a wonderful feeling to break the record.

“Since last summer, I have been eyeing the record, so it’s a great feeling I could come out here and get it.”

“I just took my mind off it and focused on the record.”

Fans were amazed by Bramwell’s performance, with one expressing awe at his remarkable achievement, saying, “Serious achievement!!”
