European Champions Manchester City have completed the signing of young Girona winger Sàvio
As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X, Manchester City have signed all documents to sign Sávio from July 1. First deal for season 24/25, now completed. Deal completed with City Football Group side Troyes as Sávio will join for pre season under Pep Guardiola
The talented winger has been a key player in Girona’s impressive campaign so far this season which has seen them garner 56 points in the league, only behind Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The young Brazilian footballer has fourteen goal contributions in twenty nine games for the Catalan club so far this season.
Sàvio to City
City Football Group (CFG), the parent corporation of Manchester City and numerous other international clubs, owns a portion of Girona. Sávio first signed with Troyes, a French team associated with CFG, in 2022. Last summer, he was loaned to PSV Eindhoven and subsequently Girona.
The 19-year-old, who primarily plays as a left winger in Spain, is expected to provide Pep Guardiola’s side more competition in wide areas for Jack Grealish, Jérémy Doku, and Oscar Bobb.
The Citizens, in recent years have enjoyed dominance in the English Premier League, and also, winning the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup for the first time in the Club’s history.
They will be facing Brentford today at the Etihad, their home ground, where they will be looking to obtain all three points to take them closer to Liverpool and above arsenal on the EPL table.
