Responsible Gambling — 18+
18+ Only
SportsBuddy’s betting content is strictly for adults. You must be 18 or older to gamble in Nigeria, and you must be 18 or older to use the betting tips and predictions on this site.
Never gamble with money you cannot afford to lose. Betting should only ever use money that is left over after the essentials are covered — never money needed for rent, school fees, food or family responsibilities.
Betting Is Entertainment, Not Income
Betting is entertainment, not a way to make money or pay the bills. No tipster, no prediction site and no betting system — including SportsBuddy — can guarantee an outcome. Our predictions are editorial opinion and analysis based on form, statistics, team news and odds; they are never promises, and they never take the risk out of a bet.
If you are betting to win back money you have lost, or to earn a living, it is time to stop and take a step back.
Staying in Control
Most people who bet do so without problems, but the habit can grow quickly. Keep it under control:
- Set a budget before you bet, and a time limit — and stick to both.
- Never chase your losses. Trying to win back lost money usually loses more.
- Take regular breaks, and never bet when you are angry, upset or under the influence.
- Keep betting separate from essentials: never use rent, school fees or family money to place a bet.
- Do not borrow money to bet, and never bet on credit.
Warning signs that gambling may be becoming a problem include thinking about betting all the time, spending more than you planned, hiding your betting from family or friends, feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut down, and letting betting affect your work, relationships or finances.
Getting Help
If gambling is starting to feel like a problem, talk to someone you trust — a friend, a family member or a professional. You do not have to deal with it alone. Gamblers Anonymous (gamblersanonymous.org) offers free, confidential support and meetings for people who want to stop gambling, and you can find meeting information on their website.
In Nigeria, gambling is regulated by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission and state lotteries boards. Only use licensed operators — and remember, if betting stops being fun, the right move is to stop.
