Chelsea defender Levi Colwill believes the blues are capable of winning the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool this weekend.
The West London Club has had a though start to the season in the league, with the Carabao Cup final being the only Silver lining in their poor season.
Despite being actively involved in the transfer market in the summer, spending well over £400m, in addition to the huge money spent in previous transfer window, the blues sit tenth position in the league, after employing Argentine manager Mauricio Pochetino.
Colwill believes in Chelsea victory
“We want to show we’re winners, that we can lift trophies for Chelsea”.
“That is what we’re going there to do”, said Colwill, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on X.
The blues made it to the final defeating Middlesborough 6-2 on aggregate, coming back from a lone goal deficit at the Riverside Stadium, in the semi finals.
Liverpool have had an impressive season so far, sitting on top of the EPL table and also remaining in all competitions.
The Merseyside club defeated Fulham 3-2 on aggregate to get to the final.
In recent meetings, the fixture has produced five draws in six meetings, including two draws in their last FA Cup and Carabao Cup finals, with their last meeting being an exception, ending in a 4-1 win in favour of Liverpool.
The Carabao Cup final will be played at the Wembley stadium at 4pm on Sunday.
