Nigeria’s Joy Obanla shows Winnie no mercy in MMA fight

After just one round, the referee stopped the fight as the Nigerian fighter unleashed a flurry of punches that Winnie struggled to endure.

In a video that went viral on social media, Obanla was seen relentlessly attacking Winnie in the first round, landing a series of jabs and heavy blows. Despite Winnie’s defensive efforts, she couldn’t withstand Obanla’s relentless assault.

The referee intervened to halt the match, declaring Obanla the winner and the gold medalist in the women’s 65kg MMA category at the African Games.

Obanla’s victory gives Nigerians the upper hand on social media

The rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana extends to various aspects such as music, football, and even cuisine (with the famous jollof rice debate). This competition provided another platform for both nations to engage in banter and assert their superiority.

Obanla’s triumph over Winnie in the fight offered Nigerians the upper hand in this ongoing rivalry, giving them a chance to continue the banter and claim bragging rights in yet another domain.

Many took to social media to troll Winnie and Ghana as a whole.

One said, “she beat am like thief”

Another commented, “wetin the Ghanian do now. See beating”

Another said, “The Ghana babe only offence Na say he go tell the Nigeria lady say sheybe una no get light.”

Another troll said, “Maybe the Ghanaian told her Ghana jollof is better and she had to beat it out of her.”
