Following their decisive victory over Werder Bremen, jubilant Leverkusen fans stormed the pitch, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. The party continued in the dressing room, where the players reveled in their accomplishment. Manager Xabi Alonso wasn’t spared from the celebratory showers, getting doused with beer on two separate occasions.
The first soaking came courtesy of defender Josip Stanišić, who emptied a beer over Alonso’s head in the locker room. Later, during the post-match press conference, Alonso was ambushed by his players who staged a beer shower, leaving the manager drenched once again. Striker Victor Boniface also joined the fun, adding his own contribution to Alonso’s soaking.

West Ham United, Bayer Leverkusen’s upcoming Europa League opponent, couldn’t resist joining in on the celebratory spirit (from afar). West Ham fans took to social media, urging the Leverkusen players to “Drink up” ahead of their crucial second-leg clash.
The Hammers currently find themselves trailing 2-0 on aggregate after the first leg. West Ham fans’ messages playfully urged Leverkusen to celebrate excessively, hoping it might affect their performance in the upcoming match. One Hammers fan wrote: “Drink as much as you need lads, as much as you need,” while another chimed in with, “Keep drinking, season over lads.”
