Arsenal Set for Summer Clearout as Arteta Eyes Squad Improvement

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is planning a significant squad overhaul this summer, with at least seven players set to leave the club.

Players Available for Transfer

According to the Mirror, the Gunners are willing to listen to offers for Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe, Kieran Tierney, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga, and Reiss Nelson. The sales of these players would generate funds for Arteta to invest in strengthening the squad’s depth.

Cedric Soares, Mohamed Elneny, and goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo will also be departing the Emirates Stadium as their contracts expire at the end of June.

Hale End Graduates: Potential for Profitable Departures

The departures of Nketiah, Smith Rowe, and Nelson, all graduates of Arsenal’s Hale End academy, would represent significant financial gains under Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Regulations (PSR). These regulations are crucial for Arsenal as they look to maintain financial stability while aiming for another big summer transfer window.

All three players have attracted interest from Premier League clubs. Nelson, who has enjoyed successful loan spells in the Bundesliga and Eredivisie with Hoffenheim and Feyenoord respectively, is also attracting interest from abroad.

With Smith Rowe failing to live up to his potential since Arsenal rejected bids from Aston Villa in 2021, a transfer could be beneficial for both the club and the player.

Potential Move for Ramsdale and Partey’s Future Uncertain

Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who arrived from Sheffield United for £24 million nearly three years ago, is reportedly generating interest from Newcastle and Chelsea. Arsenal are likely to make a profit on his sale.

Thomas Partey’s future remains uncertain as he enters the final year of his contract. His recent return to form has cast doubt on a potential summer sale, with Jorginho’s recent contract extension providing additional midfield cover. The club will assess Partey’s situation at the end of the season.

Jesus Expected to Stay Despite Injury

Gabriel Jesus is expected to remain at the club despite his ongoing knee problems. While his fitness will be addressed this summer, potentially through surgery, Arsenal see him as a valuable asset to Arteta’s squad.
