According to reports, Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag has given the club three conditions before he accepts their offer to remain in charge.
The Dutch manager is prepared to go tough during contract negotiations, following his public humiliation.
After failing to locate a replacement manager, Manchester United have chosen to remain under the leadership of the Dutchman.
It was previously reported that the 13-time League winners considered several options to replace Ten Hag, including Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel, and Gareth Southgate but the deals did not materialise. This left them to reach a decision to retain the former Ajax manager.
Erik Ten Hag’s conditions
According to reports from The Sun, Erik Ten Hag, who is not overly elated about the news, has laid down rules on how things will be done moving forward.
Ten Hag is not ready to relinquish control over transfers, a responsibility the new setup wanted to deprive him of.
The 54-year-old isn’t about to take orders from Jason Wilcox on how the club should play after it was reported that the new technical director suggested he start Bruno Fernandes as a false nine during the FA Cup victory.
Furthermore, Ten Hag won’t let Jadon Sancho return to the starting lineup unless the player issues an apology for calling him a liar during the previous term.
In addition, the manager wants Benni McCarthy, who coaches the first team, to have a new contract as his present one is about to expire.
Ten Hag, whose current contract has just one year left on it, wants these guarantees before he signs a new three-year deal.
