It was recently reported that Manchester United tried to thwart Amadou Onana’s £50 million move to Aston Villa at the last moment.

Nonetheless, United tried, and the Belgian midfielder preferred to remain faithful to Villa’s manager Unai Emery.

Onana’s Move to Aston Villa

Belgian international Amadou Onana, who has been on holiday since the end of Euro 2024 qualifiers, is expected to have a body check at Bodymoor Heath training complex on Saturday.

Financial Details of the Transfer

The overall agreed terms of the transfer between Aston Villa and Everton entail the payment of £45 million on signing and additional £5 million in bonuses.

Also, Everton will also be entitled to 10% of any future sale fee. This arrangement while below Everton’s initial valuation allows the club to deal with potential PSR breaches while also enabling the club to delay other massive sales.

Onana is understood to have agreed a five-year deal with Villa and the formal announcement should be made on Monday.
