Reports emerging from Brazil suggest that Premier league side Chelsea is in talks to sign Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira.
Chelsea’s Summer Signings and Ongoing Transfer Plans
The club, which is currently under the management of Enzo Maresca, is already preparing their team for the next season in Premier League.
In addition to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Omari Kellyman, Renato Veiga, Marc Guiu, and Tosin Adarabioyo, Chelsea continues to add new players. A new central midfielder is necessary, and Pereira can be considered as a proper signing.
With more movements expected at Stamford Bridge, SportsBuddy revaled earlier that the Blues are interested in signing Elye Wahi and have contacted Lens to find out whether the player is willing to join a new team and how much it will cost to sign him.
Enzo Maresca’s interest in Pereira and Fulham’s Stance
Maresca himself has publicly called for the signing of Pereira, and the club is willing to spend up to 35 million pounds on the Brazilian international.
It is said that verbally Pereira has agreed with Fulham that he can join if there is an attractive bid, and he wants to remain in London, thus, Chelsea is suitable for him.
Potential Replacement for Conor Gallagher
Chelsea views Pereira as a potential backup for Conor Gallagher, who may leave the club before the end of the transfer window due to his contract expiring soon.
The 33-year-old, who represented Brazil in the Copa America this summer where he came on as a substitute in three games, bagged three goals and seven assists in 37 Premier League matches last season.
He is expected to be part of the pre-season training in Portugal by the end of the month for the premier league club Fulham.
Pereira signed for Fulham from Manchester United for £10 million two years ago and has attracted Chelsea interest as they compile their squad for the new season.
