Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk is in the news once again, and this time because of his new look.
The 23-year-old winger recently unveiled his new hairstyle on Monday night, which is a shorter trim, in contrast to the long blond locks, which he had on since he joined the Blues from Shakhter Donesk in 2023.
The Ukrainian star shared a photo of his new look on Instagram, captioned “Jamie Innit,” which seemed to be a reference to a well-known moment from the British criminal drama television series “Top Boy,” according to Daily Mail.
Mikel Obi’s comment on Mykhailo Mudryk
Apart from referencing the TV character Jamie, Mudryk’s new low-trim serves as a response to Chelsea legend and Super Eagles of Nigeria’s former captain John Mikel Obi’s comment.
Mudryk, who has failed to impress since his £89 million move (including add-ons) from Shakhter, was recently criticized by the 37-year-old former defensive midfielder, according to previous reports from Sports Buddy.
Mikel hit out at Mudryk for his unimpressive displays, which have seen him manage only seven goals and four assists in 58 appearances since his big-money move to London.
“He needs to cut the hair, he needs to get rid of the tattoo, and Mykhailo Mudryk needs to get his f*cking head right, because if he does, he’s such a good player; pace, power, and good on the ball,” Mikel Obi said during an interview with ObionePodcast, as reported by CFCDaily on X.
Mikel suggested in the video that Mudryk cut his hair in order to get his head straight and stay focused on playing football.
