Brazilian football star Zico was mugged in Paris. The 71-year-old who flew to France to watch the Games lost a lot of money after his briefcase containing jewels and cash valued at £420,000 was stolen.

Zico was on his way from the hotel in Paris with a briefcase containing a diamond necklace, cash, and a luxurious Rolex watch.

According to reports, two people staged a distraction and while the man was in a taxi, according to the story, as one accomplice engaged the taxi driver in conversation, the other went round to the back of the car and grabbed the briefcase as quoted by DailyMail.

The thieves soon made their escape and Zico was left empty handed.
