Nigeria’s athletics queen, Favour Ofili, has once again shown her prowess at the Olympics, making it into the 200-metres final in Paris.
Ofili, who was denied the opportunity to compete for a medal in the 100-meter race by negligent officials despite being eligible to participate, has made them eat humble pie following her success in the 200-metres race.

After an impressive display in the first round, winning her heat and emerging with the second best overall time of 22.24 seconds, the 21-year-old Nigerian athlete followed up with an improved performance in the semifinal.
Ofili emerged second in her heat with a season best (SB) of 22.05, only behind 100-metres champion Julien Alred—enough to see her through to the final, as she becomes the first female Nigerian to do so after Mary Onyali in Atlanta 1996.
